He was born in Renfrew, Scotland. James "Jimmy" Connor was one of most popular players ever in red and white. He was an outside-left who loved to move inside the full-back and hit a shot with his fierce left foot. In 1936 when Sunderland won Division 1 (now the Premiership) Connor had his greatest moment for Sunderland when he scored the winner in a 5-4 win against Champions Arsenal at Roker. Bob Paisley, the famous Liverpool Manager voted Jimmy Connor, the best player he had ever seen as a child in his autobiography. ==Club career==
